Developing the north star vision of an integral data healthcare platform

After working for Medworq as a freelancer for over 18 months, working on the prevent dashboard and other integrated data tools, the company asked me to become a full-time employee.
But before entering into service, the management team challenged me to present a vision of what I would imagine the company would need.

Proposing the shift towards a platform strategy

Most of the medical dashboards I had been working on until then, had to deal with similar challenges, such as a lack of shared data, missing a common technical and design framework that could accelerate the development process.  Every medical dashboard basically had to be developed from scratch, resulting in a myriad of technical systems that were impossible to integrate. So as I developed my pitch, I proposed moving towards a platform business model, developing several technical layers to unlock a new set of medical applications.

The heart of this platform would be  that enables patients to manage permissions and consents, allowing various healthcare providers to cooperate around the patient.

Securing a premium domain

One of the unique aspects of this project was how I managed to secure the top domain name for the platform. Through my research and networking efforts, I was able to identify the perfect domain name that would help to establish the platform as a leader in the healthcare data management space. I knew that the premium domain name Zorg.nl was still for sale, so I suggested acquiring it for this very purpose. The management team went ahead with my proposal, and also secured significant funding from an investor, to launch this platform.

Developing the concept

The concept for the healthcare platform began as a way to address the growing problem of data silos in the healthcare industry. With so many different healthcare providers and systems in use, it was becoming increasingly difficult for patients to manage and share their medical data with the providers who needed it. I recognized that there was a need for a platform that would allow patients to easily and securely manage their medical data and permissions for different providers.

To develop the business plan for this platform, I first conducted extensive market research to identify the key pain points and challenges facing patients and healthcare providers when it came to data management. I also looked at existing solutions and identified gaps in the market that our platform could fill. With this information in hand, I began to develop the key features and functionalities of the platform. I focused on creating a user-friendly interface that would allow patients to easily manage their medical data and permissions, and I built in robust security features to ensure that data would be protected and kept private.
