Redefine 360 & Photogrammetry Studio

Together with my engineer father, I created a self-developed 360 visualization system for product photography. The system allows products to be photographed in 360 degrees, providing designers with more possibilities for backgrounds, camera settings, and lighting. It is cost-effective and offers greater control over the entire process, resulting in higher quality images.

Product visualization is an essential aspect of website design, and for many web designers, 360 visualization is a recurring theme in their projects. However, the available 360 products on the market did not meet the price/quality requirements of one web designer. In collaboration with his father, an engineer and electrical engineer, they started developing a turning platform in April 2012 that allowed products to be photographed in 360 degrees in a studio environment. The result is a professional studio that can photograph objects ranging from 5 mm to 2 meters in 360 degrees, giving designers more possibilities to work with different backgrounds, camera settings, and lighting.

The Development ProcessAfter sketching a product design, the team found a suitable drive system in an old car door and bought sensors and mechanical parts on the Internet. They then built the cabinet from MDF and had the software that controlled the system programmed in Labview. The self-developed system allows for greater flexibility in terms of camera settings and lighting, resulting in higher quality images.

The BenefitsThe self-developed 360 visualization system provides designers with many more possibilities to work with different backgrounds, camera settings, and lighting. It also enables them to edit images with professional software, ensuring the highest quality end result. With this system, designers can photograph objects ranging from 5 mm to 2 meters, allowing them to work with a variety of products. This self-developed system is more cost-effective than other 360 visualization products on the market and provides designers with more control over the entire process.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the self-developed 360 visualization system is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of the web designer and his father. By building a turning platform that allows for products to be photographed in 360 degrees in a studio environment, they have created a professional studio that provides designers with more possibilities to work with different backgrounds, camera settings, and lighting. This self-developed system is more cost-effective than other 360 visualization products on the market and provides designers with more control over the entire process, resulting in higher quality images.
