For ACNE Amsterdam, the in-house creative agency within Deloitte, Capitola developed the campaign: Inside the box. As a project manager I coordinated the various stakeholders at the client's side, as well as the creative teams and developers.

Introduction

Deloitte, one of the world's largest professional services companies, has launched an innovative marketing campaign to showcase its collection of turnkey solutions. The campaign uses Augmented Reality (AR) technology to bring these solutions to the attention of customers and prospects in a unique and unexpected way. This portfolio case study will provide an overview of the campaign journey, deliverables, and the results of the campaign.

Campaign Journey

For Deloitte's Account Managers:
  • Deloitte's account managers received training about the special Direct Mail (DM) campaign.
  • They were introduced to the campaign film, "Inside the Box," which provided an overview of the campaign concept.
  • An internal website was created to provide additional information and support for the account managers. This website allows them to filter the products and services presented in the campaign by market segment and access detailed information about each service.
  • The account managers could then select the service that was most relevant to their relationship and write a personal message for the customer.

For Deloitte's Business Relationships:

  • The customer received a package that included a box and a letter.
  • The letter contained a QR code and an invitation to scan it with their mobile device and open the box.
  • Once the box was opened, the customer saw a wooden cube printed with a unique pattern.
  • By scanning the code, the customer was taken to the AR experience, where they saw a personalized message from the account manager.
  • At the end of the AR experience, a button appeared, allowing the customer to indicate their interest in a personal conversation.
  • If the button was clicked, positive feedback was sent to the account manager and the responsible manager.

Deliverables

For this "Inside the Box" campaign, Deloitte achieved the following deliverables:

  • Campaign Film: Deloitte partnered with Studio Rewind and Ramon Tiernagan to create an impressive campaign film that visually conveyed the message of Deloitte's innovative services.
  • AR Experience: The AR experience was developed using the ZappAR framework and utilized image tracking to bring the cube to life in 3D. An interactive 3D animation was projected onto the cube, which showcased Deloitte's innovative services in a unique and engaging way. The personalized message from the account manager was incorporated into the AR experience, making it even more personalized and impactful.
  • Graphic Design: The website was designed to match the style of the campaign, with 3D icons and background visuals depicting glass cubes containing the logos of the various services. The configuration module also included cinemagraphs, short animations that brought the AR campaign concept to life.

Results

The "Inside the Box" campaign was a huge success for Deloitte. The use of AR technology and personalized messaging allowed Deloitte to showcase its innovative services in a unique and memorable way. The positive feedback from the customers who received the AR experience indicated that the campaign was impactful and helped build stronger relationships between Deloitte and its business partners. The campaign film was well received, and the website provided a valuable resource for Deloitte's account managers.

Realization of the deliverables:
For this inside the box campaign we have achieved the following deliverables:

Campaign movie.

We realized the campaign film in collaboration with Studio Rewind and Ramon Tiernagan. It has become a visual treat with many abstract 3D elements, which convey the message in an impressive way.

AR experience.

The AR experience is developed on the ZappAR framework and uses image tracking to bring the cube to life in 3D. An interactive 3D animation is projected onto the cube, which tells the story about Deloitte's innovative services in a unique way. What also makes this AR experience so special is the way in which a personalized message is incorporated into the AR experience itself.

Graphic design.

To present the website in the same style, we have developed the 3D artwork in 3D icons and background visuals. The tiles show the glass cubes, containing the logos of the various services. The configuration module is also equipped with cinemagraphs. These are short animations that depict the AR campaign concept.
